Ashleigh Townsend

Ash holds his CrossFit Level 1 (CF L1) CrossFit Level 2 (CF L2) and CrossFit Endurance Certificate. A former collegiate and professional footballer in the USA, he studied and graduated with a Degree in Public Health and Exercise Sports Science. Ash began coaching because he has a passion for it and believes in the life-changing benefits of functional fitness. His goal as a fitness coach is to inspire individuals to make long-term lifestyle changes, and he has found that CrossFit’s scalable intensity and commitment to functional movement makes it the perfect program for individuals of all ages and abilities.


Matt Noble

Matt is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, level 2 fitness instructor and level 3 personal trainer, with a passion for CrossFit and coaching others to achieve their fitness goals. Matt has spent a number of years playing rugby league and rugby union as well as enjoying climbing and mountaineering whilst traveling in New Zealand. When home from traveling Matt signed up and spent 5 months training as a recruit in the Royal Marines Reserves.

After leaving the RMR behind him, Matt pursued a career in coaching, starting his time at Defiance in October 2014 and when he was immediately won over with how adaptable the challenges can be to such a broad spectrum of individuals and how by following CrossFit's methods of training it brings people together.
